David studied business at UNC-Chapel Hill prior to working in sales for twelve years. He later attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and has served as pastor of River Oaks since the church began in 1999. David and his wife, Beth, have two children and two grandchildren. David has a special love for prayer, evangelism, and world missions. His years in business have given him a special appreciation for people who have been out of church or are unfamiliar with the Bible. 

David is a native Texan with an undergraduate degree in business from Auburn University. After a successful, twenty-five-year career with a global packaging manufacturer, David left the corporate world in early 2014 to follow a call into ministry and devote full time to his passion—helping others grow in Christ, through heart and mind. David and his wife, Christy, have two daughters: Lauren, employed by the Red Cross, and her Army Lieutenant husband Alex, currently reside at Ft. Lewis, WA, and Katelyn, a special education teacher in Frisco, TX. In their spare time, they enjoy reading, photography, reading, spending time in the great outdoors, and reading. David received his Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 2019.
